Vilkyškiai Manor was established in 1628 and became a central part of the town’s structure. Due to its preserved historical architecture, the town was designated as an urban monument as early as 1969.
Currently, five manor estate buildings remain: the residential house, guest house, workers' quarters, stables, and granary. A bit further from the main street of the town, on a small hill, stands the manor palace, built in the historicist style. The building was renovated in 2014 and now houses the Vilkyškiai municipality, library, and other administrative offices.
Among the surviving buildings, the most impressive is the manor granary, which is characteristic of the larger agricultural estates in Little Lithuania. The restored stables indicate a large estate and significant attention given to the horses raised there. Currently, the manor stables host the Vilkyškiai "History Incubator," which uses interactive methods to present the local history, familiarize visitors with the unique characteristics of the Prussian Lithuanians, and host various exhibitions and events.
