In the southern outskirts of Tauragė County, approximately 15 km southeast of the city of Tauragė, lies a wild, almost untouched natural world. Viešvilė Reserve was established to preserve the natural ecosystem of the Viešvilė basin with the Artosios and Gličio marshes and the surrounding forests of Karšuva Lowlands, as well as the unique flora and fauna characteristic to it. Visiting the reserve without permission or without being accompanied by a reserve employee is prohibited.
