Located next to the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Upyna, the Upynos Ethnographic Museum is housed in a former rectory barn. The museum was initiated and established by local historian Klemensas Lovčikas. It currently hosts around 3,500 exhibits from the Upyna region. Many of these items were collected in the 1970s, during a period of extensive land reclamation that led to the destruction of old homesteads.

On the first floor of the museum, visitors can see a variety of archaeological finds, a rich collection of folk art, artifacts reflecting the history of religion and education, and local historical works. The museum welcomes visitors, conducts guided tours, and hosts educational events.

The second floor features workspaces and tools from various artisans, including carpenters, blacksmiths, wheelwrights, tanners, tailors, and weavers, along with their products.

The museum’s outdoor exhibition includes numerous old wrought-iron crosses mounted on the walls. Along the southern wall, you’ll find a collection of wayside shrines and post crosses. One of the exhibits is a wayside shrine crafted by the master Jonas Žukauskis. In another building of the museum, formerly a storage space, are larger agricultural tools and machinery such as plows, harrows, and diesel engines. These exhibits illustrate the development of agriculture in the 19th and 20th centuries.
