For the first time in 1717, it was mentioned that besides the castle in Raudonė, there was a tavern and a mill. Like the castle, the mill's author should also be considered to be architect Štegeman. It is believed that the mill began construction around 1860, as in the 1875–1876 drawing by Napoleon Orda, the corner of this building was already depicted. This indicates that its walls were already built, but it is uncertain whether it was fully equipped, as the castle was not yet completed at that time.

It is presumed that the interior of the mill was arranged after 1877. After World War I, the building was inhabited, and horses, carriages, and grain were stored in some rooms. This was also mentioned by an old local resident, Jonas Stirbys, who had lived in Raudonė since childhood. Later archival documents confirm that the building was intended for purposes other than a mill.

The Raudonė mill was set up in 1924, and the same building housed a distillery in 1923. Thus, the original purpose of the building was to serve as residential and utility spaces for staff, not as a mill. Later, a state mill was operated here, and a sawmill was installed.

Currently, the Raudonė mill has begun welcoming visitors, who can view the still-existing equipment from the German company "Gebr. Seck–Dresden." At one time, high-quality flour was produced here. The Raudonė mill is open on weekends from 10 AM to 6 PM. We promise you won’t regret it!
