Stasys Girėnas Birthplace Museum

In 1988, to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the Darius and Girėnas flight, Stasys Girėnas' residential house was reconstructed and set up as a museum. The house was built at a different location because Stasys Girėnas' brother Petras had constructed a small shed on the original site between 1938 and 1939. The museum and the shed feature exhibits dedicated to Stasys Girėnas and the history of Vytogala village. Every July, Vytogala hosts commemorations for the Darius and Girėnas flight and their tragic end.
