The Šilgaliai (German: Schillgallen) manor estate is located 1.5 kilometers south of Rukai. Many buildings and park fragments from the manor's period have survived. A large portion of the manor lands was occupied by mowed meadows and pastures, while further north lay drier arable land—characteristic of the local meadow manors.
