The Paršežerio Pedestrian Trail, located in the Sietuvos Landscape Reserve, spans 13.8 km, with 4.1 km of the route constructed as a wooden path. The trail is well-equipped with 8 informational panels, 16 benches, 40 informational signs, and 3 wooden bridges. Start your journey at the Paršežerio Recreation Area.


Trail Overview:

  • Southern Paršežerio Shore: The trail begins along the southern shore of Paršežerio Lake, featuring a wooden path through the lake's wetland area. This section offers insights into the valuable lowland peat bog ecosystems.

  • Rešketai Village: Continue to the village of Rešketai, where you can visit the old cemetery where 1863 insurgents are buried.

  • Šilinkalnis and Paršpilio Hillfort: Proceed to Šilinkalnis and then to the Paršpilio Hillfort, with nearby Parškalnis, an ancient settlement.

  • Burbiškiai Cemeteries: The trail passes by the Burbiškiai ancient cemeteries on the way to the Sietuvos Kūlgrinda, an old waterway.

  • Mythological Spring: On the return route, visit the mythological spring known as "Milžinų Maudykla" (Giants’ Bath). A small bridge leads to the right bank of Sietuvos.

  • Piaunios Forest and Raised Bog: The trail continues through the Piaunios Forest and the raised bog area, traversing a wooden walkway before returning to the original recreation area.
