Kauno Street – Jurbarkas Old Town

Category: Historic Monuments
Kauno gatvė – Jurbarko senamiestis

Kauno Street has long been the main street of Jurbarkas. Stretching from west to east, it became a hub not only for residents but also for merchants. At the end of the 19th century, the first brick buildings were constructed along the street. It was the center of city life, with a bustling market, inns, artisan shops, a knitting shop, a tailor's shop, a clock repair shop, banks, hotels, the town hall, and a synagogue—a unique wooden architectural structure from the late 18th century, which was destroyed in the autumn of 1941.
