Built in 1771 by the landowner P. Zaleskis, the Church of the Transfiguration of Christ in Požeriai is a wooden church with a bell tower. The church's walls are made of pine logs, and its architecture is simple and unadorned. Inside, it features a beautifully crafted wooden altar, noted for its high-quality wood carving techniques, created by local craftsmen.


The church houses a statue of Jesus that is considered miraculous. The church is well-known for its annual Transfiguration of Christ feast day on August 6th, which attracts residents from surrounding villages and towns.
