In the village of Piktupėnai, there are two non-functional Evangelical Lutheran cemeteries located approximately 300 meters apart. The wooden church of Piktupėnai Parish was built on a hill near the Evangelical Lutheran cemeteries in 1574, by order of Duke Albrecht Brandenburg. During the Polish-Swedish War in 1656, the wooden church was burned down by Polish troops. In 1744, a grand masonry church was constructed from field stones and bricks at a different location within Piktupėnai, where the old, now non-functional Evangelical Lutheran cemetery is located. The masonry church was destroyed in 1945 as the German army retreated. Today, only a few damaged tombstones remain in the old Evangelical Lutheran cemetery of Piktupėnai., Pastor Christoph Daniel Hassenstein served the Piktupėnai Parish from 1792 to 1891 and was buried in this cemetery, though his grave has not been located. On December 26, 1812, during the retreat of the French army and the advance of Russian forces, the renowned Captain Albert Ernst von Mannstein was killed near Piktupėnai and was buried in the old Evangelical Lutheran cemetery, close to the church wall. A memorial stone was erected in 2002 by the Klaipeda Military History Club, marking the approximate location of Captain von Mannstein’s grave. During the Soviet era, the cemetery suffered greatly; tombstones were removed and used as foundations for agricultural buildings. Thanks to the efforts of local parishioners, the cemetery is currently being maintained.

This is the largest and most prominent of the hillforts located in the Rambynas Regional Park, with steep slopes reaching up to 20 meters in height. It is situated very close to the town of Vilkyškiai and is easily visible and accessible from the Vilkyškiai-Šereiklaukis road. Nearby are two ancient settlements where the Skalvians lived from the 1st to the end of the 13th century, until the area was conquered by the Teutonic Knights. The castle was built on a promontory surrounded by the Apsta stream. On the eastern side of the hillfort, a cultural layer of 1.3–1.5 meters was discovered. It is believed that these settlements laid the foundation for the formation of the town of Vilkyškiai.




This is the largest and most prominent of the hillforts located in the Rambynas Regional Park.

On December 15, 2023, the "Goose Museum" was opened in Pagėgiai. The museum features an extensive collection of items related to geese, along with fascinating stories. The main part of the museum's exhibits, which inspired its establishment, was donated by Laima Andersson, a Lithuanian living in Sweden. Visitors to this museum will learn the entire story firsthand, be amazed by the exhibits, and discover many interesting things, from down and feathers to goose-related currency.

The Pagramančia Outcrop is a cliff on the left bank of the Akmena River, situated in a stunning loop of the river, in the northern part of the Pagramančia town. The height of the outcrop is 29–31 meters, and its length along the river is 203 meters. The value of the Akmena Valley outcrops lies in their representation of the middle and upper Pleistocene epochs, akin to an opened book of the Ice Age. Its pages consist of layers of moraine clay, sand, silt, and clay, left by the glaciers that once covered Lithuania. The outcrop represents nearly 200 thousand years of geological history of the Pagramančia surroundings and the southern Žemaitija highlands.

This small hillfort is located on the edge of an upland on the left bank of the Akmena River. It features steep slopes ranging from 8 to 20 meters in height and a small oval platform with a low rampart on the southern edge. To the south of the hillfort lies a possible outwork and further defensive remnants to the north, in the bend of the Akmena River., The external appearance and the artifacts found nearby suggest that the hillfort dates back to the beginning of the 2nd millennium BCE. The specifics of the fortifications are not well known, and it is unclear what exactly may have been present there, as the stronghold appears to be quite compact for its presumed role. There are 31 legends associated with the hillfort, though its historical and functional details remain somewhat mysterious.

Its southern and western sides are encircled by a 6-meter-high, 36-meter-wide rampart, with an external slope of 11 meters in height leading down to a 9-meter-wide, 3-meter-deep ditch. The hillfort is covered with deciduous trees., At the western foot of the hillfort, within a 1-hectare area, there is a settlement where remnants of molded and fired pottery and clay plaster have been found. Approximately 150 meters northeast, there is the Kunigiškiai cemetery dating from the 10th to 13th centuries, which was investigated in 1971.

The legend recounts that the duke Palemonas, persecuted by the Roman Empire, reached our lands by sailing across the Baltic Sea with his family. Later, after reaching the location of present-day Seredžius via the Nemunas River, the duke built a castle here and settled., On Palemono Hill, the Pieštvės Castle stood from 1293 to 1363. It was attacked by the Teutonic Knights in 1293, 1298, and 1318, with the outlying forts burned each time. The castle was also attacked in 1319, 1322, 1345, and 1357. It was only in 1363 that the Pieštvės Castle was captured and burned down after negotiations, with the garrison having withdrawn. The castle was rebuilt after the Battle of Grunwald, with historical records mentioning it between 1412 and 1413., Palemono Hill, on which the castle stood, was believed to have been a sacred site for ancient rituals.

In the mid-14th century, the Teutonic Knights built Dubysa Castle. Intense battles raged for many decades. Eventually, in 1409, to avoid direct confrontation with the Lithuanian army, the Knights themselves burned down the castle. Today, two mounds remain, locally known as Palocėliai. In the 16th century, a manor stood here, where Mykolas Kiuchmeisteris was based. This manor was used to coordinate the administration of Samogitia.

In addition to these fortifications, there are two more ramparts and three defensive ditches preserved around the edge of the platform., The size of the hillfort and the scale of its defensive structures suggest that during the conflicts with the Teutonic Knights, this site was one of the strongest fortresses in Žemaitija and served as the defensive and administrative center of the Kaltinėnai region.

The length of the hollows is 2–10 meters, width – 3 meters. Along the edges of the Plynoji, common reed, tussock sedge, rushes, common cotton grass, marsh ragwort, tawny sedge, and among the trees, Scots pine predominates, nearer to the swamp center – common cranberry, Magellan's dwarf rush, tussock sedge, black crowberry, willow, round-leaved and long-leaved sundew, sundew, tussock cottongrass (listed in the Red Book), dwarf pines, curly birches. The swamp is home to black grouse, predatory buzzards, field pipits, cranes. There are deer. Raudonė Castle is surrounded by an old park adorned with tree avenues. The park also features some rare trees. Unfortunately, the Gedimino Oak, the third oldest oak in Lithuania and more than eight hundred years old, is no longer green. According to legend, it was under this oak that Grand Duke Gediminas of Lithuania had his last meal before heading to Veliuona.

In 2014, a partisan bunker was reconstructed in the Pagramančio Regional Park, within the Pagramančio Forest. This bunker housed the 2nd platoon of the 3rd company of the Lydžio Battalion of the Kęstučio Brigade (later known as the Butigeidžio Brigade from 1948). It is the first partisan hideout revealed in the Šilalė district, providing a narrative of the struggle for the country’s independence.




In 2014, a partisan bunker was reconstructed in the Pagramančio Regional Park, within the Pagramančio Forest.

The Jurbarkas manor is located in the heart of Jurbarkas city, on its western edge. Here, in a beautiful park on the left bank of the Mituva River, Prince Vasilchikov built stylish mansions, expanded the park, and enclosed it with a red brick wall. Near the main manor, two additional buildings, known as wings, were constructed. The southern wing housed the manor's servants and may have previously served as the manor's office. The northern wing was elegantly furnished and reserved for the prince's family members or guests. Close to the northern wing, on the northeast side, a small but rather ornate masonry church was built., The former manor park was established in the mid-19th century. The park stretches along a narrow strip on the left bank of the Mituva River and is easily accessible via a footbridge near the festival stage. The park covers approximately 9 hectares and features a mixed layout. The central part includes a parterre surrounded by a loop of access avenues running from east to west. The park's plantings consist of native maples, lindens, and birches, with some oaks and hornbeams. The avenues are lined with European larches and black pines. The main avenue connects the Classicist-style mansion with the former ornate decorative gates. Through these gates, one would enter the town street. The second set of gates is located in the northeast section. The park is bordered by Jurbarkas city to the north and east, residential areas to the south, and a hilly terrain with the Mituva River and its valley to the west.

During the medieval era, the Nemunas River, referred to as the "vital artery," and the western lands of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania from the 13th to 15th centuries became targets of the Teutonic Order’s aggression. Lithuanian wooden castles, fortified on the high banks of the Nemunas River, formed a continuous defensive chain extending as far as Kaunas., Bišpiliukai – Georgenburg Castle, 13th – 15th centuries., It is believed that the site of the Georgenburg Castle of the Teutonic Knights was located in Kalnėnai in the western part of Jurbarkas. The hill fort, located near the Nemunas River, consists of two mounds. Historical chronicles confirm the presence of a German Order castle here. Built at the height of the Crusades, this castle was one of the most powerful and long-lasting Teutonic outposts on the Nemunas River. The attacks on the castle were led by Lithuanian Grand Dukes Kęstutis and Vytautas. In 1382, Kęstutis’s Lithuanian troops were the first to use bombards with gunpowder against the walls of Georgenburg Castle. Scientists suggest that the inland dunes of Kaskalnis formed approximately 8,000–9,000 years ago. As the glaciers retreated, a large lake formed in that area, and as it dried up, the wind piled up the sand left on its bottom into large hills. These hills have survived to this day in the form of inland sand dunes. The Kaskalnis Reserve was established in 1988., The reserve is dominated by pine forests, with spruce forests on its eastern edge. Moose, red deer, and wild boar are found in the reserve. There is also a note that King Sigismund the Old and the last Grand Master of the Teutonic Order, Albrecht of Brandenburg, dined here. Other sources confirm that both rulers visited these areas in that year. The inscription suggests that to commemorate the event, they ordered the hill to be dug. Kauno Street has long been the main street of Jurbarkas. Stretching from west to east, it became a hub not only for residents but also for merchants. At the end of the 19th century, the first brick buildings were constructed along the street. It was the center of city life, with a bustling market, inns, artisan shops, a knitting shop, a tailor's shop, a clock repair shop, banks, hotels, the town hall, and a synagogue—a unique wooden architectural structure from the late 18th century, which was destroyed in the autumn of 1941.

The Kazimieras Jaunius Museum is located at Aitros g. 5, Lembo village, approximately 5.5 km from the town of Kvėdarna and 0.8 km from the Kvėdarna–Rietavas road., Originally, the property encompassed about 1.5 hectares, which included an orchard, yard, gardens, a pond, and several buildings. The original setup included a residential house, a shed, two barns, a pigsty, a granary, and a hayloft. Today, only the shed and granary remain., In 1989–1990, the museum was established in the restored granary of linguist and priest Kazimieras Jaunius. The museum features some of Jaunius' personal belongings, such as a table, chair, and a writing desk. The museum creates an atmosphere reminiscent of Jaunius' time. The museum grounds are enclosed by a traditional fence typical of the region. The granary is used for exhibitions and folk theater performances during the summer., Kazimieras Jaunius significantly impacted linguistics by studying Lithuanian dialects, standardizing the Lithuanian language, and promoting it among foreign linguists. He also contributed to the standardization and purification of Lithuanian lexis. In 1904, Jaunius was awarded a doctorate in comparative linguistics. He died on March 9, 1908, in poverty and solitude far from his homeland, and was buried in Kaunas.

In 1766, a wooden chapel was constructed at the Lomių estate. The original chapel was built solely with an axe and secured with wooden nails, funded by the owners of the neighboring Janavas estate, the Šabliauskas family. In 1830, the wooden chapel in Lomių underwent repairs, and by 1850, local Catholics expanded and enlarged the chapel. The oldest archival document related to the church, in Latin, is stamped with a seal dated 1895., The Lomių chapel was maintained by priests from the Batakiai parish and was a filial of this parish. A 1926 entry in the visitation book of the Batakiai St. Anne's Church notes the efforts of the people of Lomių to establish a parish. In 1934, the first priest, Jonas Eičas, was assigned to Lomių and undertook significant renovation work on the chapel, including building a rectory, expanding and fencing the cemetery, and acquiring liturgical items. Funds were raised to cast an eight-centner bell in Tilžė, which was then brought to Lomių and named St. Anthony in honor of its blessing. During the bell's blessing ceremony, the people witnessed a rare sight: the car carrying the Bishop of Telšiai, Justinas Staugaitis., Father Juozas Šukys experienced the Soviet occupation of 1940 and the horrors of war. Under his initiative and the efforts of the parishioners, the Lomių church was expanded and renovated. The windows were adorned with modest stained glass, and a harmonium was purchased. Ožnugaris Romuva is a sacred space imbued with meaning through tree sculptures and stone constructions. Spread over a 10-hectare forest area, the Romuva is established in an ancient place enveloped by a sacred aura - the Trišiūkštė Valley, which is known for its energetic anomalies and formed above Earth's crust faults. An astrological Altar is installed in the Romuva. It consists of twelve altars, shaped like a snake from the base to the top of the hill, the Temple of Love with a sculpture of the goddess Milda (almost 6 meters tall!), sculptures of the Caretaker and Žemyna (Earth Mother). Nearby is the center of the Romuva - a sacred grove surrounded by a mound about 1 meter high and several meters in diameter, formed from piled stones.

Remarkably, this kūlgrinda is the only one in Lithuania that is still in use and has been adapted for visitors. It offers a unique and enjoyable experience for the whole family.




The Sietuvos kūlgrinda is a stone-paved secret path through the marshland,  used by ancient Samogitians during their conflicts with enemies.

The Tauragė pedestrian bridge is designed for both pedestrians and cyclists, spanning the Jūra River in Tauragė. It connects the Old Town with the city area on the right bank of the Jūra River, known as Butkeliai. On the city center side, the bridge continues from Prezidento Street and links with the renovated riverbank below and the pedestrian and cycling path ("Meilės Alley") at the top of the slope.
